...A WEEK IN THE LIFE...

WEDNESDAY.

( still with me?? )

***i just have to tell you that yesterday morning before my alarm clock went off i was having a pretty funny dream. i don't always remember all of my dreams, but lately they are sticking with me. anyway, i was laughing so hard in my dream yesterday that i woke up LAUGHING! has this ever happened to you? well, today i again woke up having another vivid dream just before the alram went off and this time it was not so funny. i was dreaming that i had been assaulted in a parkade by being hit in the back of the head several times with a big piece of wood by several men. for some reason, they let me go off stumbling my way until i eventually saw my mom in the parkade with courtney. i collapsed as i saw them running over to me. then the alarm went off. i have had a bad headache most of the day.

weird.
( i figured this was going to be a sign that i wasn't going to have such a good day.....)

anyway.......

...got up this morning and again had our little play visit with oliver and gave him some fresh alfalfa and got on with the kids' breakfast...

tyler is NEVER any trouble to get up and going in the morning! he comes down after 'first call' dressed and ready for the day. so he often has time after eating to do whatever he would like to do before we head off to school. lately, he's been doing his piano practising during this time...he is trying his best to do well at our upcoming piano recital on june 11...

...after getting the kids off to school, i went to pick up my mom to go for a visit to see grandma and grandpa. but we had to make a pit stop for mike for a slurpee and drop it off at his work on our way to the Maples!
Grandma was excited for our visit because she knew i was bringing her the new photos i took of her little goslings that hatched on Mother's Day....she was so happy to see them!

( here's just a couple of them...)

...mom and i stayed and took grandma and grandpa down to the nice dining room for lunch.
*navy bean soup
*potato and cheese perogies with sour cream
*ham
*chocolate pudding and tea
...it was pretty yummy!
see you again soon grandma and grandpa!!!! SMOOCH!!!

...later in the afternoon, i dropped mom back off at home and then tried to rush in a stop at the bank. i needed to get some blank cheques until my new ones arrived and OF COURSE, because i was in a rush against time, i was stopped by a dang TRAIN.
typical. and following suit to my 'not so great' day already...

...well, with just enough time, i zipped back home after the bank, grabbed courtney's highland dance competition registration form and ran off again to get the kids from school.
courtney will be competing at the Manitoba Highland Gathering in Selkirk on June 19...
...ok. enough was enough already, plus it was stinkin' hot out. and with all the running around, in and out of the van, i was just super hot and annoyed and irritated and my 'evening' was just about to begin...sooooo...
SLURPEE RUN!!!

*** another WEIRD to my day was while at Mac's my total came to $6.66
time to add on a pack of gum to de-jinx that one chalking up my insane day...
...we dropped of courtney back with my mom for her to have dinner and a visit with her while i took tyler to Tae Kwon Do and piano tonight....so after another drop off, tyler and i headed back home for 25 minutes so he can change, and so i could cram in another quick practice myself!...then we were off to Tae Kwon Do!
(515 - 615 East End Comm. Club through KANG'S TAE KWON DO ACADEMY )

***and the weird signs continue...while actually on our way to TKD, a black cat crossed in front of the van in the street....wishing me more happiness to this day! HA. i intend to stay away from any ladders the rest of the evening....
...right after TKD we run back to our end of the city for mine and tyler's piano lesson!
(7 - 8pm, half hour each )
we are working on our recial pieces for our spring show on june 11...
...and we BOTH got 2 star stickers each in our books tonight...

...after our lesson we zipped back to pick up courtney from my mom...who is still living at my grandparents apartment until the end of may...and sent with the kids was a ziplock bag each with $15.70 of loose coins from Nana and Papa ( they had a couple little coin banks they told the kids could split between them ).
THANK YOU!!!!!
...and then ran to Giant Tiger for a
"MILK AND BREAD" stop.
right.
HAHAHAHA....you know how that one works too...$20 later!
...finally back at home. had another play visit with oliver while i freshened up his cage, then the kids were off to bed...
SHHHHhhhhh...do you hear anything?
No?
GOOD!!!
Hahahahaha!
Tara stopped by to pick up some pages she ordered ( YEP, for scrappin' her own "week in the life" project ) and i am almost ready for bed myself!
today i crossed ALL but one thing off my "to do" list, but hey, tomorrow is another day!!!
...here's a cute little card tyler made for mike and i at "Centres" during school today...
i love little surprises like this!

Goodnight everyone....see ya tomorrow!!!

...A WEEK IN THE LIFE...

TUESDAY.
( hi again! )
...today was a little quieter than yesterday...but i am totally enjoying this little project so far!

...the kids and i had our usual morning visit with Oliver to start our day then i drove them off to school. when i returned home, i uploaded my photos from yesterday and blogged for monday ( last night was too late by the time everyone left to start doing this....sorry! )

...while tyler was home at lunchtime, we brought oliver into the kitchen with us and gave him some fresh spinach....which he LOVED and gobbled up like a little piggy!

...then it was back to school for the rest of the day for tyler...see ya after school buddy!

...i made a quick dash into the nearby dollarama to have a look around to see if i could come up with any scrapbooking ideas for this project to scrap after the week is up....
and i did find something, but you will have to wait to see it when it's finished!!
heehee.....
...then it was finally time to sit outside on my deck and enjoy some hot sunshiny weather...
of course, i brought out my Scotland scrappin' stuff to keep working on too!
( and a Dr. Pepper -although i would have loved a lemonade instead...)
:o)
...after about an hour and a half, and red arms and red face, it was time to come in to the air conditioned house and cool down....WHEW!
tyler was off for a visit tonight, and courtney and i were off to her tuesday night highland dance lesson ( 515 - 615 ) at lynn's.
-courtney is on the far side againt the wall in the front row-

courtney's dance pals!!!
(alyssa, kailey, kelsey and alex )
...then we were back on our way home...with no dinner ready. and being 7pm, it was too late to start cooking a meal, so we drove thru A & W for our grub...

...hahahaha....thanx heather from A & W for being a great photo sport for my cause!!!
( i had to explain to her why i wanted her permission to take her picture and yes, she sounded as enthused as she looks....definitely NOT a scrapbooker!!! hahaha...but she did it anyway! )

...after dinner we played with oliver for a while then courtney finished off her homework and
i practised piano ( spring recital coming up june 11 ).

...and now it's time for the kids to get to bed, and then i plan to finish the last few pages of my photo album selection for my Scotland album and send them in to Costco for printing...
THEN it will soon be time to start the actual journaling and scrapbooking to add to the pages!!
I CANNOT WAIT TO START!!!!!!
goodnite and see ya tomorrow......
;o)

...A WEEK IN THE LIFE...

MONDAY.

( so, here begins my 'week in the life' project...hope you stay with me all week! )

...our mornings now consist of a visit with Oliver once the kids have finished breakfast. ( he is a good motivator for courtney, being the sleepy head that she is! )

...i dropped the kids off at school and came home to tackle my "TO DO" list!LAUNDRY always seems to be ongoing every few days in this house, so in went a few loads!

...and of course the dishwasher is another daily cycle around here. one of courtney's chores is to unload the dishwasher and load it after meals. ( allowance = incentive! )

...after lunch ( i still go to the school at lunchtime to bring tyler home to eat and then bring him back ) i went to Superstore to get some groceries i needed for dinner tonight. I treated myself to this totally cute Fairy Castle Cactus because it reminded me of my my happy trip to Mexico with Tara, which was only 2 months ago but feels like years...

...then i was off to Costco for more groceries and more photos i had sent in for my Scotland scrapbook album! ( which is coming along fabulously....only one more album to finish selecting photos from and THEN i can start the 'scrapbooking' part of it! )

...i had a few other errands to run as well, and can i tell you that by suppertime, i had EVERY, SINGLE THING crossed off my 'to do' list!!! YAY!!!

Dinner = pita pizzas (with fresh chopped garlic - YUM- and salad.
mom and my niece airiel also came to have dinner with us before my Sketches class i was teaching tonight started!!

...i bought these raspberries and blackberries to have with the rest of our snack break tonight during the class....first raspberries of the season, and they were sooooo yummy!!!!!

...and it was decided by the girls during my class that there should be a photo of me 'teaching' to add to my daily photos for today....hahaha!

...class was over and everyone left around 10:30 and then i got my jammies on, had a quick visit with Oliver, watched a bit of TV ( south park,of course ) and then went to bed!!!
See ya later tonight with todays events!!!!

...practice run....

...i have been inspired by my friend tara to try out the ever popular "A week in the life...."
scrapbooking project....started by the very talented Ali Edwards in the scrapbooking world.
anyway, you basically take some photos throughout the day of your everyday life happenings and add some journaling to finish off the days events once you have all your photos for the day selected.
and....you do this every day for a week, then turn your photos and journaling stories into a
Mini Album!!!
so, since i have also been enticed to ponder the possibility of compiling lots of fun goodies and journaling cards together to teach a "365" project in the late summer, early fall ( yes, that's right, all of the above but for EVERY DAY FOR ONE YEAR!!!! ) i thought i had better give the idea a trial run...so it didn't inspire me to get ready for my "a week in the life" which i will be starting tomorrow, until we were about to sit down for dinner tonight...
so, here's my evening efforts for practice!
...since it was such a lovely, lovely weekend with great weather ( i even got a sunburn today! ) mike thought it was time to break in the BBQ for the summer...
YUMMY!!!!!

...the BBQ King...

...Mom and the Meatballs...

...there's no photo for proof, but i even brought out my Scotland scrapbooking stuff - since i'm still finishing off my photo page planning - outside and worked at the patio table while enjoying more warm sunshine! ( as if i didn't get enough already while Courtney was at dance this afternoon...i brought it all with me to work on at her dance teachers deck too! )

...i even went for a bike ride on courtney's bike with tyler after dinner! i don't have my own bike, and since courtney is taller than me, i figured her bike should be big enough for me too....and a way more comfier seat than the bike at the cabin!!!
what a fabulous day!!!

...oh, we also have one happy little Oliver with a freshly cleaned cage and some fresh apple slices and another new chew toy we bought him today!!!

:o)

...also got another load of laundry in the wash and plans to get some scrappin' finished off tonight for tomorrow night's sketches class!!
So.....there's my practice day for my "week in the life" that I will be starting tomorrow ( monday )....
Wish Me Luck!!!!
( and YES....that means a blog read every evening this week!!! )
;o)

Oh My.....

...it's been a while!
our little Oliver is getting cuter and cuter every day...he's very cuddly and LOVES to have full run of the living room!!
i just took him in today for a nail clipping and a little visit to Tyler's classroom before lunch break...his friends have been dying to see him and Oliver behaved perfectly!

...i have been VERY, VERY excited about what I am about to share with you...
guess who has FINALLY started working on her Scotland scrapbook album?
hahahahaa....it's only been almost two years....
so, here was my dilema on the delay of the project:
OVERWHELMED.
simply stated, that's how i felt about making this album.
where to start? how should i do it? do i type / write my journaling?
how many pictures ( of my over 1000 that i took ) do i narrow it down to?
do i make a 12 x 12 album with page protectors - or do i leave it open with interraction?
do i make it a 8.5 x 11 album and have it coil bound?
...and the list in my head goes on. trust me.
so.
after seeing peeks of another scrappy gals recent Congo trip
and using her MULTI PHOTO PAGE PROTECTOR idea she got off of Ali Edwads, i knew instantly when i saw her version that THIS was the solution to scrapping our family trip to Scotland
once and for all!!!!!
so......i have started with a scrapped title page and have been working all week ( when time is allowed to sit and work on it ) and here's the beginnings of the album...
don't worry, i'll post more pics and the pages actually come together in completion!
***i chose a 12 x 12 album i wanted to use for my scrapbook
( Pinoeer black faux suede binder album )

***i am using We Are Memory Keepers Multipack Page Protectors ( and i have some of these coming into my store soon!!! - YAY! )

***cut out a picture of the page sizes to have handy as i went through my FIVE albums of photos to select which photos to use and which page to accomodate them....

( i have also been writing in a little notebook the layout pages in order and what photos / page will go next for photo printing purposes - some are 4 x 6, 5 x 7, 8 x 10, 8 x 12 and mini prints )

... i sent photos off to Costco online for printing ( and it's an ongoing job, still in printing process into Album 3 - so be patient! ) and sort into piles and have ready to fill pages

***this was the tough one. adding whatever pamplets, booklets, tickets, and other paraphanilia to the scrapbook. so the easiest thing to do was to sort the stuff out in order of places visited, and when i got to those places in the photo albums, i just had to decide what extra little goodies to add to the page OR to punch holes and add the booklets directly into the album!

***then i have started filling the photos and extra memory items as i went along until i needed to add more photos or get to the journaling part of the pages. i plan to fill an empty pocket on each page with a patterned paper or cardstock with the journaling for that page.

***so just to give you the jist of things....here's a few sample "in process" pages....

i will definitely share more of this album as it comes more together!!!!!
hope you like it so far!!!
...in other family news....
on mother's day, grandma's geese became parents, again with 7 new little goslings!!!
they are perfectly adorable, and have already left their home / nest to be near a water source....but it's been another fun adventure seeing them come back, next in the exact same spot, and get to see the little ones before they left for another year!!

...also on mother's day, we took the kids up to see Grandma and Grandpa in their new digs.
they are not happy there at all, and mentally DO NOT belong there, but grandpa is 24 hour care and grandma cannot look after him with her own physical limitations now.
BUT...
they LOVE having company!!!

...grandma was thrilled to hear about her little goslings hatching this same day too!!

...three generations, the fourth was taking the picture....
hahaha....
...courtney and tyler trying out the wheels in the hallway. i told tyler to make an old man face while in the wheelchair and this is what i got...

...and last night tyler was in the chorus for his first school Musical play!
( only grade 3 & 4 got acting parts, but since he is in a 2/3 classroom, the music teacher allowed him to participate in the chorus! )
"it's a jungle out there" was the theme...

:)
be back soon!
